Rear Shackle Mount 1966-74 A-Body ART-15 This repairs the rear frame where the shackle mount attaches. If you need this kit, you might see the spring breaking through the trunk, or the back of the car might be really low or feel loose. It slips over the frame. The original shackle mount box has to be cut out (or it will just fall away from the rust). The kit comes with mounting nuts for reattaching the shackle mount. You disconnect the rear spring and lower the rear end to give yourself clearance to install this kit. It is a very simple kit to install, and makes for a very rigid repair. If in doubt whether you can do this yourself, go to an expert (which is us!). If you're having it done somewhere else, these parts make it easy for the installer. This kit has been around for over 20 years. It's made of 13-gauge steel.
